Continuing My Life's Story with Fun & Music. Events that I have gone to here in da Upper Peninsula Of Michigan. U.P. State Fair, & Island Resort Concerts. It's all about the Fun times.
The U.P. State Fair has been going on for many years. When I was younger, every time my family went there, I always wanted a hat. This one time, I got a big old black hat with a corn cob pipe in it. It always made me act silly.

My sister Nancy and her husband Harold would always go camping every summer. When I'd get a ride from my brother John, I'd go see them. On this particular visit, I had fun blowing bubbles.

On June 27, 1987 Pete Frecchio invited me to Marinette's Bicentennial. Al Stewart was performing. I've always liked Al's music, so I was happy he invited me. I didn't take any pictures, but Pete gave some from the concert.

Some pictures I took at the U. P. State Fair 2005. I had my first digital camera, and you'll notice as the years go on, with better cameras, my pictures get better as well.

I saw Foreigner at the U. P. State Fair on August 17, 2006. They had a new lead singer, and he did a really great job. One of the people on the midway said he sounded like the original. They did have one original member and they put on a really great show.

Saw the Little River Band (Not the original) at the Island Resort on September 22, 2007

I saw The Volunteer Jam on April 11, 2008 which starred Charlie Daniels, Shooter Jennings, and 38 Special. I was in the front row by the stage and got some pretty good pictures.

On August 29, 2008 I saw Huey Lewis & The News out at the Island Resort

I saw Merle Haggard on October 17, 2008 at the Island Resort. In his band was a son and his wife. Another of his sons was also helping out. It was great show.

On January 30, 2009 at the Island Resort I saw Styx for the third time. I love their music and was sorry to hear Dennis DeYoung isn't in the group anymore. I enjoyed the concert.

The next pictures from The U. P. State Fair 2009 should be called the Loretta and Bud section, as I took mostly of us. I had a good time going to the the U. P. State Fair with my dear friend Loretta.

On March 26, 2010 I saw Rick Springfield out at the Island Resort. He put on a good show and he was climbing over the seats in the audience making all the young women scream. I have his “Greatest Hits” and like them.

The U.P. State Fair 2010 had many wonderful things. Among it all was The Kenya Safari Acrobats. Which I went to see several times.

I saw Cheap Trick first with a friend of mine on March 17, 1981 at the Hedgecock Fieldhouse in Marquette. I also some them another time at the U. P. State Fair. The last time I saw them was at the Island Resort on October 29, 2010. This are pictures from the 2010 concert.

I've always loved music and tried to make it to any concerts they were having, either at the Island Resort or the U.P. State Fair. On August 16, 2013 I made it to the U.P. State Fair to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. My brother Jay and his wife Marge were there to see them as well.

At the U. P. State Fair in 2014 was country music star Joe Diffie.

The following night Bo Bice sang with Blood, Sweat, & Tears. I sat with my brother Jay and his wife Marge.

The U.P. State Fair 2014 was done very well and I had a great time. Eddie was there and took a picture of me.

And I took a picture of him.

My childhood friend Richard Norman was there, and his wife took a picture of us together.

I saw my friend Fred Grenier there.

August 21, 2015 I was at the Fair and the concert was The Fab Four, who did the Beatles songs. They dressed up like the Beatles, and did a great job. They dressed up in the early stage, the Sgt. Pepper stage, and the later years. They had an Ed Sullivan impersonator introduce them and he joked around with the audience. I was sitting next to my brother Jay and his wife Marge, and on the other side was my brother Jim and his wife Colleen.

In 2017 it was another fun time at the U.P. State Fair. The concerts I went to at the Grandstand were:

On August 16 it was The Oak Ridge Boys. It was so packed I had to stand up for the whole concert.

On August 18 was The Prince Experience. I am not a big Prince fan, but let me tell you, I almost thought I was watching the real one. They put on a great show.

On August 19 I went to see Sawyer Brown with my friend Basil. Redeye opened for them and they were really good too. Sawyer Brown have a great sense of humor and can still put on a great show.

The First time I saw Collective Soul was June 17, 2006 at the Island Resort. I didn't bring my camera not knowing if we could take pictures. On February 16, 2018, they returned to the Island Resort, and so did I. Along with my good friend Basil. I had my camera, and I took pictures, as they put on another great show.

I've been a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls for many years now. Their album “Dizzy Up The Girl” was really good, and many of their hits off of their other albums were good as well. Their last three albums “Magnetic,” “Boxes,” & Miracle Pill” have shown how talented they really are. Great music! Great show! I went to see them at the Island Resort on September 15, 2018

When it comes to country music, I am kind of picky on what I like. On December 14, 2018 I went with the Senior Companions to see Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers. I don't own any of their music, but I will say this, they put on a great show.

The U. P. State Fair 2018 was another great year for me. Met up with my old friend and Classmate Brian Lancour and his better half, Kim. Would you believe right at Norm's

In 2018 I went to the 906 Got Talent show and it always amazes me at all the talent people in the U.P. Have. I always enjoy it.

I also went to see the group Pop Evil. Now It is not my kind of music, but I stayed for a couple songs to get some pictures. While they jumped up and down and moved around, I got some pretty good ones.

Air Supply is known for their wonderful Love Ballads. They come from Australia. They still do a great job as I saw them at the Island Resort on March 8, 2019

On April 6, 2019 I went to the Island Resort to see Night Ranger. They put on a great show.

On May 18, 2019 I went out to see Whose Live Anyway? At the Island Resort. This is the live on the road version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” A show that I have loved for a long time.The stage lights were blue before the show started. I was sitting in the front row next to the stage and it made me look blue.

The U. P. State Fair in 2019 was very good. Had many great things and of course many pictures.

Spiderman, For me I grew up reading Spiderman as well as many other superheroes. This year this Spiderman was very social and walked the midway and doing flips and interacting with people, I followed him and took pictures. Here are some of my favorites from August 17, 2019

The High Flying Pages were great! Being afraid of heights that I am, I can appreciate anyone who dares to be in the air. They did a great job and put on a fantastic show. I kept going back for more each day I was at the U. P. State Fair.

906 Got Talent had a lot of great talent this year and I always enjoy. Great idea for the U.P. State Fair every year.

Setting The Doves Free. I love watching the expressions on the faces of those holding the doves.

Forgotten Highway performed twice, once alone, and they opened for Billy Ray Cyrus later in the week at the U. P. State Fair. I didn't see Billy Ray.

The Hannahville Presentationwas a great story and dance and I enjoyed it very much.

I guess I was too late for the Bagpipes

On October 19, 2019 I went out to the Island Resort to see the Plain White T's. They put on a great show. Many songs from their Parallel Universe CD. I heard all of them, except one that was from their deluxe CD. I downloaded it as soon as I got home.
